Our Mission

We deliver development opportunities that are sustainable and benefit entire communities, focusing on the younger generation. Our objective is to help people to help themselves, by giving them support; encouragement and empowerment. CFDC are committed to the successful implementation of each project by keeping administration costs to a minimum and ensuring all donations are utilised to benefit those in need.

CFDC was initiated to assist after the Asian Tsunami, now we provide education facilities in the most deprived areas of the community. The founders are actively involved in all aspects of the charity and are dedicated to ensuring all donations deliver the maximum benefit.

We are registered in the UK and in Sri Lanka, as a trust in the name of Project Reach.

SPONSOR A CHILD AND HELP BREAK THE CYCLE OF POVERTY

CFDC’s child sponsor programme is devised to cover the full cost of educating a less privileged child in terms of school fees, transportation, uniforms and all books/stationary.

Sponsoring a child is a three year commitment at £18 per month per child.

Skype Pals - India

In December 2017-2018, CFDC embarked on a project to teach spoken English to as many children as possible through role play, games, singing and art. This initiative is to prepare the students for our Skype Pals project that has been so successful in Sri Lanka.

Skype Pals - Sri Lanka

In 2013 we pioneered what we refer to as the Skype Pals program, taking its name from the old concept of Pen pals but using Skype as the method of communication. This program involves children from Hurstpierpoint School in Sussex and Singiti Hamauwa School in Colombo taking part in Skype Pals video calls twice a week and focuses on CFDC’s ethos of ‘Children teaching children’

Brighter Futures

Over 40 UK volunteers took part in a 7-day programme to change the lives of over 1,600 children and their families. The programme called Brighter Futures, is what we hoped to give the communities involved.

The programme was split into three projects; Rejuvenate, Inspire and Motivate.
